Aarti in Rishikesh - Saffron Photograph Snatches

by Shefali Munjal on 30 Oct 2009

Aarti at the Parmarth Ashram. As sun sets. Lots of saffron-orange. River flowing behind. Young boys in orange. Lots of young boys looking devout, looking bored, tired. Boys looking around, toward the ceremony happening, a young boy reading out prayers. A throng of people facing the water.

  1. The colours! Wow, the warm tones are brilliant, effusive, soft, life-signifying and a perfect counterpoint to the blues of the water, the sky and the weather. Very nice. And your use of wide lenses is excellent. Very enjoyable.

  2. Very ironical!

This is exactly where I was on 23nd,March,2009 and attended this ceremony.I was on my return to New Delhi after celebrating my sister’s birthday.

On my return to Delhi the same day,our dearly beloved left for his heavenly abode. Its almost like I prayed for his Nirvana.
